Freelance Writing / Editing

Background:
My career in educational publishing began in 1980 when I landed a job as an editorial assistant in a New York development house. I quickly moved through the ranks to editor and then project editor. As project editor, I shepherded several large projects from the writing stage through camera-ready mechanicals. In 1984, I left my in-house job to work as a freelance writer and editor.

Editing:
Projects run the range from teenage romances to personal resource management to a book on the historic township of Cranbury, NJ. Most editorial projects, however, have been school textbooks and workbooks, primarily in the subjects of history, geography, political science, economics, language arts, science, and health. A representative sampling of projects follows:

Strange But True (Silver Burdett)
Silver Burdett English (Silver Burdett)
The Basics of Writing (Globe Book Company)
